Latto, Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour, November 4
It’s never to late in the season to enjoy some Sugar Honey Iced Tea — especially when served up by Latto. Fresh off the release of her third studio album, the Grammy-nominated Georgia rapper unveils her first-ever North American headline tour this week, and it pulls up to Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on November 4 with Mariah the Scientist and Karrahbooo as support. Latto is delivering a taste of the South to the rest of the country, as the “Big Mama” and “Georgia Peach” artist dishes on the record’s tasty title: “When I met [producers] Pooh [Beatz] and [Go] Grizz[ly] and locked in with them, everything just felt Southern… One day, shortly after we cut ‘Put It on Da Floor,’ I just walked in the studio like, ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea is the name of the album,'” she tells Billboard for a cover story. “People be trying to be messy and thinking it’s a response to something. I promise you, this is before any of that shit. This is something that just felt Southern to me. Where I’m from, we be like, ‘I’m the sugar honey iced tea!'” Drink up. Tickets go on sale on Friday (August 16) at 10 a.m. local time.
