Tinashe, Match My Freak World Tour, November 6
Are you gonna match her freak? That’s what Tinashe wants to know, as the viral R&B star unveils her Match My Freak World Tour that plays Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on November 6. It’s been a whirlwind summer for the Kentucky-born, California-raised singer, writer, and dancer, as chart-topping single “Nasty” — hitting Number 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 and US Viral 50 charts, and Apple iTunes R&B and Soul Songs chart — delivered her biggest track in a decade, with the lyrical hook “Is somebody gonna match my freak?” taking on its own life on the internet. “I want people to know that you can steer your own ship, create your own destiny, and mold your own universe,” says Tinashe. “That’s especially important for young women. I’m working towards constant evolution, growth, journey, and adventure. I’m embracing it for what it is, living life to the fullest, and taking advantage of being able to do what I love. I’m living my dream.” Tinashe’s new album, Quantum Baby, hits this month, as well. Tickets go on sale on Friday (August 9) at 10 a.m. local time.
