Making your way home always seems to welcome in the growth you’ve experienced since your last visit, and Jenny Slate — at least in one way — is no exception, as she makes her way back home this year as a whole new “Lifeform.”
As announced earlier this week, the bustling comedian and Milton native will make her way back home to Massachusetts with one night at The Wilbur on October 23, in celebration of the release of her new book Lifeform, which is composed of a collection of personal essays. Most recently, Slate released her second hour-long special, Seasoned Professional on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year, in addition to a number of on-screen roles, including the Bob’s Burgers Movie and Everything Everywhere All At Once in 2022.
After crushing it all over the country for the better part of the past few years, Brian Simpson will return to Boston to make his Wilbur debut on October 11. In addition to selling out clubs all over the lower 48, as well as becoming a staple at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership in Austin, Simpson most recently released his debut hour-long special, Live From The Mothership on Netflix.
Ronny Chieng returns to Tremont Street as part of the follow-up leg of his highly successful and highly sold-out Love To Hate It world tour, with one show at The Wilbur on November 3. Just over a week later, standout YouTube personality and comedian Max Fosh is set to make his way to The Wilbur for the first time on November 13 with his new live show, Loophole.
If you’re looking to add a little bit more red to your Valentine’s plans next year, Andrew Santino can help you out as he brings his Freeze Peach tour to The Wilbur on February 14. After releasing his most recent special, Cheeseburger on Netflix in 2023, the Chicago native has continued to climb up the podcast ranks as co-host of the Bad Friends podcast with Bobby Lee, and he’s also recently reprised his role in the hit FX series Dave alongside rapper Lil’ Dicky, as well as a starring spot on the Adult Swim cartoon Royal Crackers.
Things are continuing to heat up over in Somerville, as well, even as we look into the colder months. First, comedian and activist Janeane Garofalo makes her way back to the area for one night on October 25 at Crystal Ballroom. Joe DeRosa will then following in those footsteps a few months later, as he plans to make his way to the Davis Square venue on December 7.
