This Show Is Tonight: Haddard and Barclay take it to The Fenway

Courtesy of NICE, a fest

Thanksgiving may loom on the horizon, but the real big event of this week has already arrived in the form of a rare, enticing Monday night show at one of Boston’s newest live music spaces.

Over in the Fenway, the intimate Rockwood Music Hall — an offshoot of the New York establishment of the same name — offers a solid lineup with a nice and early show time to boot. Homegrown star Haasan Barclay brings his unique and intricate blend of house, shoegaze, math rock, hip-hop, and more to the space. In addition to his solo work, such as 2022’s DUAL SHOCK, Barclay has collaborated with the likes of Khary and Bad Rabbits, as well as his industrial project Camp Blood, and more. His set tonight is sure to be electric.

Also on the bill is New York’s “self-proclaimed escape artist” Aubrey Haddard. Combining angular synth with folk-ish tendencies and a lyrical focus, she released a full-length solo album titled Awake and Talking in 2022 via Beverly Martel. Haddard also has her own share of collaborative bylines, having formerly fronted Breakfast for the Boys and Berklee outfit Sonomosiac. Her multi-pronged musical approach should prove to translate well to the stage.
