The Aunty Donna boys keep the magic of a dead cat alive at The Wilbur

The grieving process following the death of a pet can play out in a myriad of ways. But for the Aunty Donna gang, that process is at least partly being worked out onstage in their own special way, and they’re bringing the magic to The Wilbur.

As announced earlier this week, the internationally-renowned Australian sketch comedy trio has announced plans to embark on the Magical Dead Cat Tour, a North American theatre trek that will kick off at The Wilbur on October 11. Although it is in a live setting, the new show will feature the same brand of surreal humor that has made the group such a massive hit around the world in front of the camera, like what they displayed on their wildly successful Netflix series Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun. Not to mention, while they know what their fans like, they’re keeping things fresh during the live presentation with all-new sketches, as well as a few fan favorites with the help of some special surprise guests.

Also making their way from the confines of their cozy radio office space to the live stage, some of the comedic cornerstones of NPR’s legendary program Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! are paying a visit to Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on April 28. Hosted by stand-up veteran and longtime WWDTM panelist Alonzo Bodden, huddle in for a night of wall-to-wall laughs delivered by a trio of comedic force. While those three artists are still to be named, what we can be sure of is that it’s bound to be a night of great comedy, insights and perspective.

General on-sale for Aunty Donna begins today (March 23) at 10 a.m. ET while general on-sale for Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! begins on Friday (March 24) at noon ET.
