Band in the USA: The Sisters of Mercy unveil spring tour

When the 2023 Sick New World Festival lineup first surfaced back in November, one name jumped out on the flyer amongst a sea of nu-metal, alt-rock, goth and industrial bands: The Sisters of Mercy. Back then it was anyone’s guess if the Vegas fest would be a quick one-off for the influential English gothic rock and punk-psychedelia group, but it turns out that’s not the case at all, as Andrew Eldritch and Co. have announced a spring tour of the United States.

It’s the first Sisters of Mercy tour of the USA in nearly 15 years, and plays Boston’s Big Night Live on May 31. Tickets to all shows go on sale Friday (February 10) at 10 a.m. local time.

The Sisters of Mercy have — somewhat incredibly — not released a new album since 1990’s Vision Thing, but remain a steady presence in underground and alternative nightlife, with classic tracks like “This Corrosion,” “Lucretia My Reflection,” “Temple of Love”, and “Dominion/Mother Russia” enduring as dance floor mainstays over the past several decades.

The lineup for this run of shows features Eldritch alongside Ben Christo, Dylan Smith, “Ravey” Dave Creffield, and iconic drum machine Doktor Avalanche. Check out all the dates, first and last and alway, below.
