This Show Is Tonight: Franz Ferdinand bring the ‘Hits’ to Boston

Photo Credit: Ben Stas for Vanyaland

The best way to make a Monday feel like a Friday is a heavy dose of Franz Ferdinand. The Scottish band rolls into Boston tonight (August 15) to play House of Blues, and they’re bringing with them nearly 20 years of indie dance floor bangers, all packaged up nice and tight via March’s Hits To The Head compilation. So we’re destined to get all the jams on Lansdowne — “Michael,” “Take Me Out,” “Do You Want To”, and probably everything else — plus a grand display from one of the aughts’ finest indie showmen, Alex Kapranos. Boston trio Vundabar are pulling opening duties, so there’s some local pizazz on the bill, as well. Just remember, tomorrow is Tuesday, not Saturday, so treat the bar with respect as “The Dark of the Matinée” waltzes you away to the dance floor and that 20-something state-of-mind that haunts your midlife comes roaring back through Jack and Cokes. Hit the greatest hits comp below to get reacquainted, check out the remaining dates on this latest barn-burner tour, and scan through Ben Stas’ 2018 photo gallery for a visual look of the Franz Ferdinand live experience.
