The Venomous Pinks break free from heartbreak on ‘No Rules’

The Venomous Pinks first caught our attention a million emotional years ago, way back in January 2020 with their electric cover of Joan Jett’s “I Want You.” We were so smitten, we hitched a ride to document their show the next month in their hometown of Tempe, and then… well, then all fucking hell broke loose. As we begin to embrace spring and wonder if the past two years ever really happened (and if we’re about to repeat it all over again), we’re once again inspired to throw a fist in the air and drop a boot in the gutter with the Pinks’ latest garage punk rager, a sparkplug of a new single called “No Rules.” The Arizona band unleashed it this week, and it’ll be featured on the trio’s forthcoming debut album Vita Mors, out June 3 via SBÄM Records

Guitarist and vocalist Drea Doll says “No Rules” is “a scorned love letter in song form that attempts to break the vicious cycle of a toxic relationship. It was a fun track to record, because regardless of what stage you are at in life, everyone can relate to a little heartbreak.”

The track comes with a live performance video shot and edited by Alexander Thomas and filmed at The Yucca Tap Room in Tempe, showing off what The Venomous Pinks do best.

“We are collaborating again with director Alexander Thomas to create the video,” Doll adds. “I’m stoked, because we were taping at The Pinks old stomping grounds, The Yucca Tap Room. The venue is an Arizona punk rock staple, and we really came into our own as a band on that stage — so it’s only fitting.”

Fire it up.
