Starling rises to confirm her true self in ‘Every Single Time’

We live in the age of instant gratification, but there’s a sweet payoff for those who let Starling’s new single “Every Little Time” unfold slowly across its three-plus-minute runtime, gradually building its swirl of empowered ambition. The British alt-pop artist’s new ballad — a rallying cry for those that have ever doubted themselves or felt alone — first hit the streams last month, but today (March 8) comes into visual view with a delicate new music video that celebrates International Women’s Day. And true to the song’s subject matter, it’s all about life’s slow build-up that helps a person get to where they need to be.

The “Every Little Time” visual was produced by Ryan Blackwell and Nastassia Winge, and directed by Blackwell at Beyond Photography. Watch it below.

“We worked together to create an elegant minimal world where you enter the inner monologue and journey from pain to power,” Starling says. “We wanted to create a stripped-back color scheme for the video to emanate the purity and story of the song. The vulnerability of not being valued or being mistreated is relatable — this song is about realizing our innate strength, that no matter what we’ve been through, it’s possible to rise. It just might take a moment.” ”

It often does.
