Life in 2022 is just a never-ending series of bullshit moments, but sometimes you gotta kick the world in the balls and take the Ws where you can. And when you earn those hard-earned dubs, it’s time to celebrate accordingly. For SoCal surf and skate punks Wanted Noise, a fist in the air and a kick to the groin comes through on their new (new-ish) single “Clench,” which arrives this week with a visual played out on the rugged kickball diamond.
“‘Clench’ is about clenching your fists and pushing through when life gets hard,” says vocalist and guitarist Suryendra Sherman. “It’s about the celebration when your hard work finally pays off. Originally written by our bassist Jin in the early days of our band around late 2014, this song has been re-written over and over again and turned into a collaborative work, with each member of the band contributing significantly to the songwriting process.”
Teamwork makes the dream work. We’ll raise a glass to that.
The infectiously bratty and distorted “Clench” will be included on the new Wanted Noise album Next Generation, which lands next month. In the meantime, get your kicks with the visual below, directed, filmed, and edited by Matthew Fitzpatrick; and catch Wanted Noise live at The Mint in Los Angeles on March 12.
