After delivering spooky chills n’ thrills with her dark-electro Halloween releases, Kim Petras is going from black to pink this weekend with Slut Pop, a new EP that comes just in time for the horniest of holidaze. It’s a Valentine’s Day gift from our kaleidoscopic alt-pop comet that lasts more than 15 minutes… which, at the end of the night, is all anyone could ever hope for.
With seven supernova dance-pop tracks packaged tight in two-minute eruptions, Slut Pop is a hyper-fit celebration of sexuality, inspired by the sex worker community and a bold and brash reminder that there’s no shame in the game of passion. It’s a fun release that includes upbeat tracks like “Treat Me Like a Slut,” “Throat Goat,” and “They Wanna Fuck,” and it may be the raunchiest femme-empowered blog house shit since Amanda Blank dropped her “We Are Rockstars” guest verse on Steve Aoki’s Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles in the late-’00s.
Nothing on Slut Pop will be including on Petras’ forthcoming Republic Records album (unlike recent jams “Future Starts Now” and “Coconuts”), and that’s quite alright. This is the one night stand we need to fuck through the Hallmark holiday ahead. And once you turn it on, it’ll quickly return the favor.
