Jordana takes us back to the carefree aughts on ‘Catch My Drift’

We first picked up what Jordana was putting down back in the ultra-forgettable Summer of 2020, when the American bedroom-pop artist dropped a sterling slice of alt-pop called “Forgetter”. It was clear better days were soon on the way, even as we were caught in the most miserable of times. This week, Jordana pushes our playful optimism forward once more with a new single and video for “Catch My Drift,” a catchy as hell throwback pop-rock number that recalls the mid-’00s in all its carefree glory.

This song is about going back and forth with your feelings for someone when they make you question whether they are even reciprocated,” says Jordana. “The song is about realizing you shouldn’t be emotionally dependent on anybody, and that it’s just a waste of energy.”

Post that shit to your MySpace.

Meanwhile, “Catch My Drift” comes with the announcement of the 21-year-old artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer’s sophomore record, Face The Wall, out May 20 via Grand Jury. It also marks Jordana’s studio debut. “The album title has a few meanings to me,” she adds. “Mostly, it’s about not giving up. The wall can be anything in your way. The album is a sort of reminder to myself that I have to face those things, and I can’t take the easy route and turn around.”
