The digital ecosystem these days places a premium on assets — narratives, press quotes, and everything else that fuels the endless abyss that is the daily content machine. But sometimes an artist sums shit up so succinctly, it just all rolls from there: “Woke up from a nightmare and started spittin’… here’s what came out of it.” That artist is Slush Puppy, and the San Diego singer, songwriter, and producer drops his first dose of musical alchemy this week (January 24) in “NIGHTMARE!”, a mechanical grind of alt-pop, industrial, and hip-hop that probably rolls its eyes at any of those genre tags.
