Jared Freid and Jimmy Fallon may share the same initials, but after Freid’s milestone moment in the limelight, it’s clear who was the star of the evening.

Making his late-night debut on Thursday (November 11), the Needham native brought a quick-shot arsenal of material to The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that touched on a few different topics, but put a heavy focus on the unshakable childish ways of adults, and the joys of, or rather the emotional gauntlet you endure when going home for the holidays.

Delivered with the same tough-yet-vulnerable attitude that has brought sellout crowds to his shows all over the country, the J Train podcast host’s nearly six-minute musing may have hit a little too close to home for some of us in the best ways, but when it’s a locally-sourced comedy powerhouse like Freid bringing the heat in the national television spotlight, the humorous relatability becomes even sweeter as the few short minutes tick by.
