Weakened Friends take us behind the scenes through ‘Tunnels’

Those who slept on scoring tickets to Weakened Friends‘ shows at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston later this month (November 19 and 20) have missed out, as the Portland trio’s pair of record release parties are firmly sold out. But fans can still spend some quality time with the band, as this week they’ve released a new behind-the-scenes lyric video for a new single called “Tunnels.” The clip finds Weakened Friends on out on the road doing the damn thing, crushing all the stages, hotel rooms, gas stations, and everything else along the way and they bring their fiery alt-rock to the masses.

“Tunnels” is billed as “a portrait of the paranoid spiral that follows when you’re hurt by someone you’ve let get close to you, complete with self-deprecation and closed off self-defense.” Which makes it a pretty good candidate to soundtrack a visual of life on tour as an indie musician.

“Tunnels” will be featured on Weakened Friends’ forthcoming sophomore album Quitter, out November 19 via Don Giovanni Records. The title track dropped in September, so you might as well check that out too as you stand on a chilly Harvard Avenue in a few weeks tryna scalp some tickets to the O’Brien’s gigs.
