It was June 2 of this year, and we got knocked on our asses. That was the day we first heard Miss June’s firecracker of a single, “Best Girl”, sending our gobsmacked bits right to our computers to declare as loud as a headline could possibly roar: Miss June’s new single ‘Best Girl’ absolutely rips. Fast forward several dope singles and one debut album (last month’s Bad Luck Party) drop later, and the raucous New Zealand rock and roll band finally play our town, setting up shop tonight (October 15) at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville. Miss June say “Best Girl”, a full-fisted jolt of beautiful aggression, is “an anthem for anyone who has been misled from birth, into battle for a spot that doesn’t exist.” And we can jive with that whether we’re going to the show tonight or not.
