The trailer for Disney+’s ‘Lady and the Tramp’ is cute and kind of scary

So, the Walt Disney Company is having its annual convention, D23, out in Anaheim this weekend, and understandably, it’s a bit of a big deal. Given that the mega-corporation is announcing the content for their very own streaming service, Disney+, which will hit devices of all shapes and sizes in the fall, you better bet they’re going to have a shitload of trailers and whatnot for their launch line-up. Chief amongst the feature films debuting on the service in November is the live-action Lady and the Tramp, which features a cast of rescue dogs playing the cute little doggies from the animated film. Well, that is until they are digitally manipulated into “speaking,” anyways.” Tramp’s voiced by Justin Theroux, Lady’s voiced by Tessa Thompson, and it’s penned by Support the Girls’ Andrew Bujalski. The trailer’s cute enough but, like The Lion King, it is horrifying when these dogs begin talk.

Take a look:

You’ll never be able to make this look natural, guys! It’s Good Boy! all over again, all the time. Still, Bujalski’s involvement makes us curious about it, and the cast looks quite good, so let’s hope this isn’t terrible.

Here’s a synopsis, not like you really need it:

“In Disney+’s ‘Lady and the Tramp,’ a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic, a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home.”

Lady and the Tramp hits Disney+ on November 12, the day the streaming service launches .
