Nick Cave is bringing his “Conversations” shows back to North America.

The legendary performer, who held court with a similar theme in Boston last spring, will return to the area this fall for his latest tour, which is billed as “an evening of talk and music.” These appearances feature Cave taking questions from the audience in an open discussion format, and performing songs from his illustrious career on piano.

Cave describes the shows as “an exercise in connectivity,” and it comes to Cambridge’s Sanders Theatre on September 25. Tickets go on sale Friday (May 10).

“I thought that a direct conversation with the audience might be valuable — in the recent live shows we have all shown a kind of willingness to open up,” Cave says.
