After years of going underground, the Brighton comic delivers his 4/20 celebration to the mainstream
This Saturday may be an off day for the Celtics, but it will still be a day to celebrate some green — and Lamont Price has just the shindig for you.
Getting down at City Winery this Saturday (April 20, or, uhhhh, 4/20), Price will be accompanied by some of his best friends in the scene, Dan Boulger and Bethany Van Delft, and a few surprise guests for a night of comedy, good vibes, and of course, to pay tribute to the whacky tabaccy.
“We’re just looking to have a fun night, maybe get a little lifted, and tells some jokes,” Price tells Vanyaland. “Obviously, I’ll have Dan and Bethany who are top-notch comedians, some of the best you’ll find in the country, and I’ll have some special guests, as well, that I won’t announce yet. But, I just want everyone to have a fun, chill night, and hang out.”
Price is no stranger to putting together 4/20-centric shows, having done them in a more “underground” format in past years. With this being Price’s first show of this nature at the consistently blossoming venue, he’s not sure what to expect in terms of crowd energy and flow, but since the public’s perception toward the devil’s lettuce has evolved in the commonwealth over the last few years, he’s hopeful and excited of what the night might hold in store — both for this weekend, and the future.
“That’s kinda what’s fun about it. It’ll be an adventure,” says Price. “Certainly, this is a more mainstream establishment for something like this, but obviously the ideas and minds are changing for the better about the subject, and I would like to think that we’re moving towards more mainstream establishments putting on shows like this.”
