Kero Kero Bonito debut their blustery new video ‘Swimming’

Lead singer Sarah Midori Perry helps the trio’s new song unfurl over a majestic but somewhat melancholy backdrop

Kero Kero Bonito have finally found a locale that perfectly matches their sweeping synth-pop. Firmly planted on the coast of Dorset, England, lead singer Sarah Midori Perry helps the trio’s new song “Swimming” unfurl over a majestic but somewhat melancholy backdrop in their new video, out today (March 19). Cooing by the coastline is an intentional move, the London group says, as this tune is “about visiting the beach with your mother as a child, and returning as an adult without her. It’s a tribute to growing up, our mums and the ’70s singer-songwriters we enjoy together.” A physical release of “Swimming” backed with “The Open Road” drops on May 17, and the band starts a North American tour (sans any New England tour dates) in April. Peep the fuzzed-out new vid below in the meantime.
