Jacob Banks and ABIR live at Royale in Boston

Photo Gallery: The Nigerian-born British R&B-soul singer brought himself and that damn voice to the Theatre District on Saturday

Editor’s Note: Last month Jacob Banks released a new single called “Love Ain’t Enough,” a re-boot of one of the standout tracks on his breakout 2018 album Village. Saturday night (February 23) at Royale, it wasn’t so much a question about love being enough as it was how much love was in the room. And it certainly felt plentiful. The Nigerian-born British R&B-soul singer and songwriter, who was the first unsigned act to ever appear on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, brought his remarkable and expressive baritone voice to Boston and didn’t disappoint. Opening the show was Morocco-born, New York-based artist and singer ABIR, and we have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot from her in the future. Bina Zafar was at Royale for Vanyaland capturing images from both, and you can scan through her full gallery below.
