Hear that sound? It's noise. Know what it's for? It's for toys.
But don't let this terrible lede dissuade you from a good time and worthy cause, because the fourth installment of the Noise For Toys benefit series lines up two shows this week, both designed to get toys to children who are in need this holiday season.
Since the first Noise For Toys show at T.T. The Bear's Place back in 2013, the cause has been a group effort between Coaches and music websites Clicky Clicky Music Blog and The Ash Gray Proclamation. And this year represents an expanded operation down I-95 to Providence's fertile music scene.
"Over the past couple of years I've been spending a lot of time seeing and attending shows in both Providence and Boston," says Ash Gray Proclamation's Bryan Hamill, so it just seemed to make sense to host a Noise For Toys line-up in Providence, and it's something we plan to expand on in the coming years... I have been amazed by the strength of the scene in Providence and the amount of really good bands playing around that city."
Preview the bands playing both shows below, and note those fantastic flyers: Providence's designed by Jah Hills' own Ryan H. Walsh, and the Boston's by Dustin Joshua Smith Watson of Disposable America. Featured Twin Foxes photo via Bandcamp.
