Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

With the recent announcement of nominees and the 2017 vote now open to the public, it’s safe to say Boston Music Awards season is in full swing. Ten days ago everyone packed into Hojoko for the nom-nom-nominee party, soundtracked by Vanyaland faves Latrell James and BABY!, and now, like any good ramp-up of enthusiasm and wonder, it’s things are not only accelerated, but elevated.

Quite literally.

This afternoon the BMAs announced its first-ever Reverb From The Roof party, a Friday (September 29) affair featuring Salem Wolves and Hayley Thompson-King. The open-to-the-public event also serves as the kick-off of a six-show slate running over the next several Fridays (September 29 to November 3), and it’s free with your RSVP.

And yes, the bands are playing on the roof of the Verb. Take that, Fenway Park concert series.

“Starting this Friday we’re putting BMA nominated artists onto the roof of The Verb Hotel,” the BMAs write in an email. “If you’re in the Fenway neighborhood, come and swing by as two artists each week perform in the shadows of Fenway Park and The Prudential Building.”

Also take note — this isn’t some wild late-night Friday party that’ll have you racing to catch the last T outta Kenmore. It’s more of an after work affair, from 5 to 7 p.m., that sounds to us like the perfect weekend jumpoff. Aaaaaaaaas long as that jump-off doesn’t land in the Verb pool.
