Listen to a million rad songs by Stef Chura, who plays ONCE in Somerville tonight

Ok, so maybe Stef Chura doesn't actually have a million rad songs in her catalogue, but the Detroit musician does have 11 at the very, very least, all featured on her January album Messes.

We just caught wind of Chura this week scanning the live show listings, as she plays ONCE Ballroom in Somervile tonight, and we have to admit it's been a while since we immediately felt the ever-fading feeling of "Don't miss this gig." Chura's buzzy, lo-fi guitar-rock falls somewhere between the spinning goalposts of Courtney Barnett and Liz Phair, with her deadpan vocal delivery bouncing a straight line over distorted '90s alt-rock slash-and-burn guitarwork. We're fairly certain she'll be in rooms two or three times the size by the time she rolls back into town.

So here's a chance to see her at ONCE, a place at which we suspect she'll feel right at home. But enough from us, just hit play and fall deep into Chura's rock and roll haze.
