Members of Dillinger Escape Plan were involved in a serious tour bus accident this weekend in Poland. The New Jersey mathcore band were en route to a show tonight in Krakow when the incident happened, sending at least 13 people, including members of the band, to a nearby hospital. The show tonight in Krakow has been cancelled, and the remainder of Dillinger’s ongoing farewell tour of Europe is in doubt.
There were no fatalities from the accident, which happened near or in the Polish town of Radomsko. According to reports, Dillinger’s tour bus was parked on the side of a roadway when another truck struck it from behind. See images below.
The driver of the truck that hit the Dillinger bus apparently suffered the most injuries. Aneta Wlazlowska, a spokeswoman for Radomsko police, told media that the hospital trip for Dillinger members was “mostly precautionary.”
Metal Injection reached Dillinger guitarist Ben Weinman, who relayed this message: “Everyone is alive, a few injuries, but it could be much worse.” On Sunday afternoon, music writer Ryan J. Downey tweeted the following: “To my friends asking about my brothers in the Dillinger Escape Plan, they are shaken & hurt but alive & in one piece after the bus accident.”
Judging from the images below, the band’s musical gear looks totally destroyed.
