Granite Rock: Help Badfellows’ Lucas Troy create a new DIY music space in Manchester

We’ll be the first to admit that we don’t have many reasons to head north to Manchester, New Hampshire, unless we’re looking for a cheap or direct flight from the airport out of New England. That could change if the crowd-funding efforts of Lucas Troy reach its intended goal.

The Center Barnstead resident and singer/guitarist of New Hampshire guitar-rock band Badfellows is seeking to build a combination retail and DIY performance space in Manchester, and has established a GoFundMe page with a reasonable $2,000 target.

Check out his description of his intended efforts below, and revisit our August premiere of the upbeat Badfellows track “Awful Anxious.”

Manchester DIY Venue by Lucas Troy

Hello! I’m Lucas Troy and I am here to help you help me help Manchester, NH, and the New England DIY music scene.

Manchester needs a place for aspiring musicians, artists, writers, and performers all kinds to meet and connect with each other. We had a great start earlier this year with another DIY venue but since it’s closed, it is now time to move forward with a storefront venue!

In my store we will have second hand goods like trinkets and curated clothes, local art and music straight from the artists themselves, various art supplies to fuel the local artists, and we will host events like music and poetry and workshops and meetings. So far I have a strong all-star cast of NH locals that keep the heartbeat of the the arts pumping around New England. We aspire to give YOU the best music and arts experience possible, but we need your help to get started!!

I ask that you donate what you can if you enjoy going to shows in Manchester or support local artists. Every little bit counts and it goes straight to the cost of opening.
We all know the good times that we have had other the past few years and I am diligently trying to keep this momentum moving forward. Please help me keep Manchester growing into a place where the arts can thrive!

Thank you so much,
Lucas Troy
