Far And Wide: Watch the Lemmy Kilmister memorial service, live from Los Angeles

The world is invited to watch the public memorial service for Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister, the beloved Motörhead frontman who died on December 28 at the age of 70. The live web broadcast from Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood can be viewed via the YouTube embed below, and begins around 5:30 p.m. here in Boston and on the East Coast.

“We want you ALL to be a part of this memorial service,” reads the video description from the official Motörhead Youtube channel. “So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. GO to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm’s life at home. Whatever your venue, and however you can, let’s be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon.”

Day-long festivities and memorials will also be held today at the Rainbow Bar & Grill, Lemmy’s favorite hangout spot. The venue will broadcast the service from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time and welcome guests to the Sunset Strip who want to pay their respects. There is a private event at the Hollywood club until 9 p.m., and then a public tribute show. Find more details on their planned itinerary via their Facebook page.

Those wishing to make a charitable donation under Lemmy’s name are directed to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.

Rest in Power. RIP Lemmy.
