The year began with a Missy Elliott frenzy, and now it’s wrapping up with one as well. In February, the music icon stole the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show away from Katy Perry and those dancing sharks, and now, just as the digital ink starts to dry on all those year-end Best Of lists, Elliott has dropped a new single and video for her collaboration with Pharrell Williams, “WTF (Where They From)”.
It’s Elliott’s first single in three years, and first video in seven. That’s crazy.
The video is a dark, but choreographed, dystopian look into our very near future with supa dupa ride hoverboards, reflective mirror hoodies (!!), and Biggie beanies, which in the last five minutes just became the hottest holiday shopping item of 2015.
