After Bad Blood: Bastille say upcoming new album ‘sounding a bit mad’

It’s been more than two years since British alt-pop group Bastille released debut their LP Bad Blood, but fear not — a new record is on the way. And Bastille ringleader Dan Smith reports that the new joint is “sounding a bit mad.”

Don’t take our word for it. Read it and tweet:

There you have it.

Though no release set has been set — or even speculated — this tweet as a good sign that the wait shouldn’t be much longer. Over the summer, they premiered a couple of new songs at a few European summer music festivals, and had told DigitalSpy that the new stuff was reflective of “moving into using guitars more.”

Says Smith: “We didn’t use any on the first album, so it’s just nice now we’re playing longer sets to incorporate that. We’re really interested in trying not to repeat ourselves and within the set having a lot of variety as well, because it just reflects the sort of music that we’re into. So, it’s nice to have a couple of moments that are really guitar-heavy to offset all the rest.”

Listen to live clips of two new songs, “Snakes” and “Hangin,” below, and sit tight for more updates from Bastille HQ as we await Album #2.
