Father John Misty covers Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ (and it sounds like the Velvet Underground)

Father John Misty wins.

We mean, that’s usually the case, but today especially. The upcoming Boston Calling performer today gave us another reason to adore him dearly after he posted a cover of Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” And it sounds like the Velvet Underground.

Because of course it does. “My reinterpretation of the classic Ryan Adams album ‘1989’”, the man born Joshua Tillman writes on Soundcloud.

Who needs all of 1989 when you have this? Listen to the cover below, and check out our kinda-sorta photo gallery from Father John Misty’s performance at the Paradise in Boston from earlier this year.
