Video Premiere: José Oyola & The Astronauts orbit around space-aged ‘Strangers’

Conscious music that speaks to the individual as well as serving as a rhythmic observation of the world around us, New Haven, Connecticut, indie-pop act Jose Oyola & The Astronauts always have a great message to get across. Inspired by a love for outer space as well as having a deep appreciation for the human experience, the intergalactic indie rock band has a knack for creating a diverse sound featuring lyrics in both English and Spanish while also possessing a psychedelic edge. This particular band of cosmic individuals always stray from the norm while making beautiful tones that you’re bound to enjoy.

It couldn’t be more evident than in the brand new music video for “Strangers,” a recent single off of Oyola & The Astronauts’ upcoming second full-length, Hologram, due November 13 via the University of New Haven based label Purebred Records. Filmed by Shane McLellan, the video shows a look at our world in extraterrestrial fashion along with the song talking about how we should stop delving into insignificant warfare and start working together to find cures for the many diseases that afflict humanity. The video also features a cool cameo from fellow New Haven musician Ceschi as one of the scientists.

Oyola will be performing solo during the first day of Narragansett Beer’s Extravagansett End Of Summer Block Party happening at The Parlour in Providence on September 6 and he’ll be joined with his Astronauts for the Hologram album release show going on at College Street Music Hall in New Haven on November 7. Until both of those shows happen and the upcoming album is released, check out the video for “Strangers” below…
