It’s Gonna Get Louder: Listen to the four rock bands playing tonight’s Noise For Toys benefit

Not all charity or benefit shows are created equal, but most have a common endgame: to raise funds or items for those in need. With less than 10 days until Christmas, South Shore music website the Ash Gray Proclamation, guitar-rock band Coaches, and Clicky Clicky Music Blog have teamed up for Noise For Toys tonight at T.T. The Bear’s Place. It’s a loud and boisterous rock and roll show that also doubles up as a benefit for Toys For Tots.

And the lineup is even better than the name (and the name is brilliant).

The night features performances by Exploding In Sound’s Palehound, Chandos (born as Chandeliers and recently signed to Carpak Records), Worms (the Western Mass band formerly called Whirl), and the aforementioned Coaches, a young Boston crew of noise-pop misfits who found a permanent spot on Vanya Radio playlists with their ear-piercing June single
“amisarewaswere.”

The cover tonight is $10, or admission is free if you bring an unwrapped toy. Whether you hit up Toys R Us this afternoon and carefully pick something out, or casually stroll the weak-but-acceptable toy aisles of CVS and Walgreens en route to Cambridge, it all still counts.
