Stay Loud: Listen to the final two Young Adults songs, then go to their final show October 12

Earlier this week we were bummed to learn that Soccer Mom were calling it a day, with one of their last sonic trips to after-school practice coming October 12 when they play T.T. The Bear’s Place. That show was already established as Young Adults’ swan song, so there’s a great big air of finality to that Sunday gig in Cambridge, and we’ll all be stepping in teary puddles after pouring it out so many times.

“It’s time to move on,” says guitarist/vocalist Chris Villón very matter-of-factly when I ask about the split.

So it goes.

Luckily, Young Adults are going out as noisy as they came in, and now the Massachusetts noise-punk trio have released two tracks to commemorate their farewell, two previously unreleased numbers that reminds us they were doing that whole Eagulls thing long before Eagulls were doing that Eagulls thing.

Fire the new jams up below, and bring earplugs to TTs next Sunday. We’re going to put in a personal request for “Wasting Time,” one of our favorite songs to come out of our town in years.

We can already feels our drinks spilling.
