Los Rumberos de Boston, 2:00 p.m. set time
Boston is known for its Rock N’ Roll Rumble, but now it’s starting to shake to a different beat with Los Rumberos de Boston. The trio of Mexican Bostonians won a 2013 Boston Music Award for “Best International Artist” — that’s two we got on this show, as Evolfo Doofeht won it the year prior — and now bring some Latin flavor to a familiar field in Texas.
Guitarists Lito de la Isla and Angel Cespedes and percussionist Paul Sefchovich combine a host of Latin influences with traditional styles in blues, flamenco, rock, dance, funk and reggae. A truly global act, they’ve performed in Mexico, the U.S., Latvia, Russia, and Spain, and have shared a stage with Ziggy Marley.
Fire up their track “Tu Cinturon” off the Berklee Bandcamp compilation, and get ready to dance…
