Oh wait, our bust, that’s not actor Bryan Cranston up there singing for the National on Saturday Night Live, it’s just the Brooklyn band’s frontman Matt Berninger. They sure do seem to be morphing into each other, don’t they?
Too bad Berninger couldn’t bang out a quick cameo on Breaking Bad before the series ended.
Anyway, last night on a Lena Dunham-hosted SNL, the National ran through two of the better tracks of last year’s Grammy-nominated album Trouble Will Find Me, proving there’s no such thing as too many synths for a guitar-rock indie band.
