Deep Dishing: Macaulay Culkin’s Pizza Underground is coming to Church in April

Macaulay Culkin’s pizza-themed Velvet Underground cover band, the Pizza Underground, is coming to Boston, and of course they are playing a rock club with a restaurant attached to it.

The Pizza Underground bring the world’s tastiest tribute band to Church in the Fens on April 19. In case you’ve been busy watching Home Alone on VHS tape, Culkin sings in the project, and also plays kazoo and percussion. Tickets are $15 and are on sale now, and they are the only band on the “bill.”

But wait, there’s more zaniness!

Doors for the Pizza Underground show at Church are at 8pm (see update below), but the rock club also has a 9pm show listed on its calendar, featuring The Alchemystics, Eight Feet Tall, Crooked Coast. And that show has a separate cover of $12. So you’re pretty much paying $15 to hang out and hear Culkin shit on Lou Reed for no longer than 60 minutes.

UPDATE 02.23.14 10:50am EST: We’re told via the comments that doors are at 6pm, giving you not only an extra two hours in the club, but also making this the perfect dinner time experience.

No word on whether Church’s restaurant half will start offering pizza deals for a pre-show dinner, but they should be.
