Don’t Call Me: Check out how Blondie rejected a request to perform at the Sochi Olympics

Promoters for the Red Rocks Festival in Russia wanted Blondie to perform live on Thursday, February 13, at the Sochi Medals Plaza. They thought it would be a nice touch for Olympic winners and roughly 25,000 spectators to be serenaded with songs like “Heart of Glass” and “Rapture.”

Turns out Blondie said nyet.

The band posted this photo to Facebook this afternoon. It’s of their apparent contract offer, with “PASS” and “HUMAN RIGHTS” scrawled over the text in black Sharpie.

Pretty cool.
