Girls Guns & Glory re-record “Dirty Water” — with gang vocals — to benefit the One Fund

The Boston Marathon bombing was more than five weeks ago, but charity efforts have not slowed down. In addition to the countless benefits, compilations, and clothing fundraisers, now some “Dirty Water” is added to the mix.

Boston-based Americana act, 2008 Rock and Roll Rumble winner, and favored band of Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson GIRLS GUNS & GLORY recently assembled a bunch of players in the city’s music community, and re-recorded the Standells’ classic ode to our town with 100% of proceeds to benefit the One Fund.

This freshly-filtered “Dirty Water,” which clocks in at exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds long (smoke up!), was posted today for download, and is available for $1 or additional donation.

From the ONEsession Bandcamp, which is hosting the track: “ONEsession was conceived by Ward Hayden. Ward’s idea was simple, to record a version of the song ‘Dirty Water’ with his band, Girls Guns and Glory, with all proceeds benefiting One Fund. Ward did not want to simply recreate the original song; his goal was to record a uniquely Boston version with a large group of Boston area musicians. Ward recruited New England Music Award Producer of the Year, Sean McLaughlin (Elliot Smith, Rush, Marilyn Manson, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20), to record and produce the project. Ward also reached out to David DeLuca (Highway Ghosts) to act as executive producer.”

The vocal group includes: Gabriel Adams, Amy Black, Sarah Blacker, Susan Cattaneo, Dan Cody, Glenn DiBenedetto, Anthony DeLuca, David DeLuca, AJ Edwards, Elizabeth Ellenwood, Jenee Halstead, Ward Hayden, Chris Hersch, Severina Gates, Chad Gosselin, Brianna Grace,
