Everybody loves new music, so here are some early demos …from space.
NASA’s Voyager 1 captured sounds of interstellar space last fall and this spring, and posted their debut record to YouTube earlier this month. The clip has already generated more than 2 million views, making it the Lorde of the galaxy (except, we assume, much older). Either way it’s so hot right now.
Clearly intent on insulting synthesizers, NASA’s plasma wave instrument captured sounds of dense plasma/ionized gas vibrating in space (!!!), and the result is an atmospheric soundscape that wouldn’t be out of place at an underground Allston noise show. We’re already anticipating the Merzbow collaboration.
Rising tones, increasing density, galactic vibrations — this band kills, man. And they’re already better than long-lost third-wave Britpop comets Space.
