By now, Glenn Danzig’s strict anti-photo policy is well documented. A few months ago, when the Misfits singer played Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, his bodyguard sat perched at the side of the stage, shining a flashlight at anyone who dared snap a pic. When the bright light failed to get the point across, the bodyguard went into the crowd to forcibly remove the show-goer from the premises.
When the Misfits’ classic-era lineup of Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein reunite for two shows later this month — December 28 in Las Vegas and December 30 in Los Angeles — the person tasked with enforcing the “no photo” policy will have it much easier, as the acclaimed punk band has teamed up with tech start-up Yondr to literally lock up each person’s phone.
According to Blabbermouth, the updated “phone policy” from ticketing sites AXS and Ticketmaster states: “No cellphones, smart watches, cameras or recording devices will be permitted during The Original Misfits reunion shows. These exclusive one-off performances will be completely phone-free. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr cases that will be unlocked at the end of the show.”
Fans won’t be giving up their phones — they’ll just be carrying around the Yondr case. Like Poison once sang, you can look, but you can’t touch. Or wait, maybe it’s the other way around.

“Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby,” the policy continues. “Anyone caught using a cellphone during the performance will be removed from the venue. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.”
Yondr bills itself as a company that allows you to “live in the moment.” At the Misfits shows, fans will be asked to put their phones on vibrate before placing them into the Yondr pockets. That way if they receive an urgent call, they can feel it. They then, as alluded to above, will need to leave the concert area and enter a designated lobby to unlock their Yondr case and pull out their phone from use.
