Glenn Danzig’s knock ’em down, drag ’em out Blackest of the Black tour wraps up this Halloween night in Los Angeles, and it could mark the end of an era for the frontman. The 60-year-old metal legend and former singer of the Misfits tells Loudwire that he will retire from touring, even with a new covers record, Skeletons, out November 27.
“I think this is going to be it,” he says in the video below. “I’ll do some shows here or there, but I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore.
Of course, not touring is different from not playing at all. So while he may never again hit up cities like Boulder or San Jose, where the Blackest of the Black Tour arrives this week, tomorrow and Thursday, respectively, he won’t be completely gone from the stage.
“We might do some Danzig Legacy things, but they’ll be very intimate,” he adds. “Same thing if I do the Danzig Sings Elvis record, I want it to be more intimate where people can sit down and just watch the show… I know there are a couple of plans to go overseas and do some things there, but it will probably just be festivals.”
Get ready for Danzig’s Sinatra Era. Skeletons, meanwhile, features Danzig’s take on classics by Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, and more.
