Time to bust out that Lederhosen. Oktoberfest is coming.
The 37th annual Oktoberfest and HONK! Parade in Cambridge’s Harvard Square arrives Sunday, October 11, and while the seasonally-appropriate jamboree features six stages of live entertainment — as well as “dozens of international food vendors, hundreds of street vendors selling artwork, jewelry and vintage clothing, neighborhood sidewalk sales and HONK! bands from around the country!” — we’re most excited for the live lineup curated by Bowery Boston.
Bowery had booked Harvard Square’s Mayfair fest earlier this year, and once again offers a nice mix of homegrown talent on the Church Street stage, headlined by Mexican Summer psych-pop band Quilt.
Also performing on what should be a lovely autumn Sunday are New England veterans Vapors Of Morphine and Oldjack, NPR-approved Northampton upstarts And The Kids, funk-pop septet Ripe, and “Swamp Yankee Blues” brigade Cactus Attack.
The Church Street stage is located in the Church Street Parking Lot, near the Sinclair. Preview the participating bands below; more info on Oktoberfest can be found here.
