If you want to see hip-hop royalty, hop on over to this year’s The Thing in The Spring.
Rap icon and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah (pictured above) headlines this year’s edition of the Keene-based alternative festival, which is scheduled for May 15 through 17. The fest announced its lineup last weekend (January 31), revealing performers such as Virginia fingerstyle guitarist Yasmin Williams, Brooklyn folk and psychedelia band Woods, and Emily A. Sprague, a New York ambient artist and member of Florist.
The weekend-long festival will take place at indoor and outdoor stages at Keene venue Nova Arts, with the exception of a Saturday evening concert at the Colonial Theatre, featuring Ghostface Killah and New York rapper/producer Sammus.
New Englanders on the lineup include dream-pop band NOVA ONE and the Undertow Brass Band — both from Providence — as well as Portland’s experimental folkies Big Blood, and Massachusetts singer-songwriter Mary Elizabeth Remington, among others.
Weekend passes, which offer guests access to every show, are $100, while single day passes ($40-$60) and tickets for the Colonial Theatre show ($59-$79) are also available. Snag yours here, and check out the full lineup below.
