Coral Moons provide a midweek high with new single ‘shrooms’

Themes like drugs and safety rarely gel in music, but Coral Moons can make the pairing seem as natural as a Winnebago and the open road. The Boston band (who camp in upstate New York these days) usher in spring with “shrooms,” their first studio recording since 2021’s Fieldcrest. The new single — released today (March 6) — evokes a high from frontwoman Carly Kraft, who floats through memories of a weekend in the woods among close friends. “All I need is a little bit of sunshine / Makes me feel like myself again,” she coos, content to be cushioned by the song’s radiant dream-pop. It’s a spirited ode to life’s bare necessities: A sense of safety, simplicity, and a full dose of shrooms. Join the trip below.
