It simply does not matter what Punxsutawney Phil or any other spring-predicting marmot has to say in front of the camera: In early February in New England, it always feels like winter will last forever. So today we’re bringing in sunshine skies and warm-weather vibes via “Cherry Lips,” the vibrant new escapist single from electronic alt-pop duo AR/CO.
The project of Mali-Koa and Leo Stannard dropped the summer-kissed celebratory party jam this past Friday (February 2) through Helix Records, just in time to give us hope that the freeze and all its dependable dreariness won’t last forever. And that’s exactly what we need right now here in our frigid corner of the world. “‘Cherry Lips’ is youthful and a hell of a good time, like the whole AR/CO theme,” the duo declare. “It’s just another chapter in our bonkers but fun world. We think everyone can connect with its free-spiritedness like we do.”
Crank up the volume, and the warmth will soon follow.
