There’s leveling up, and then there’s whatever GAYLE has been doing. And that whatever has been plentiful for the Texas alt-pop phenom: Tours opening for Taylor Swift and P!nk; placement of new single “butterflies” on the forthcoming Barbie soundtrack; and her breakout hit “abcdefu” approaching one billion — yeah, billion — streams on Spotify.
So what does a girl do after all that? Take the shit on the road for a headline tour.
That’s what GAYLE will be doing this fall when she brings the Scared But Trying Tour across North America for 17 shows, kicking off October 17 in Tampa and wrapping up November 15 in Nashville. Along the way, is a November 7 twirl at Brighton Music Hall in Allston that already feels like one hot ticket. After a handful of pre-sales, ticket go on sale to the general public Friday (June 16) at 10 a.m. local time.
Here’s what GAYLE has to say about it: “going on tour with taylor swift and p!nk have been some of the most exciting and terrifying moments of my life. before walking on stage, i would get nauseous and it would be hard for me to control my breathing, but no matter how i felt, i would try and do it anyways. the last couple of years have been a whirlwind, but i’ve continued to do things even though i was afraid… the thought of going on my own tour is very intimidating to me, but over time, i’ve learned i can do things even though i’m afraid. with this tour, i am scared, but i’m ready to try.”
