The Frights, July 16

California surf punk band The Frights are always down for a party, and they bring their own to the other side of the country by crashing Brighton Music Hall on July 16. In January 2020, they dropped the prophetically-titled acoustic album Everything Seems Like Yesterday, and plugged back in this year with stomping new single “I’m A Beatle.” A new album, Gallows Humor, arrives June 2, so we have a few weeks to learn all the words to sing-shout it back at them. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. local time.

The Brazen Youth, June 29

Connecticut band The Brazen Youth first captured our attention several years ago with the muted seaside aesthetic of the “You’ll Be Forever Nameless” video, and have beautifully retained it ever since. Last year the folk-tinged indie rock band released well-received album Eagle, Idaho, and followed that up last month with the tender and rootsy “I’ve Never Killed Anything That Lived.” They’ll bring all that and a growing cult-like following to Brighton Music Hall on June 29. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. local time.
