We’re not entirely sure the “teen” part of the 2010s ever truly happened, and part of the proof arrives tonight (November 15) when Cloud Nothings return to town to play The Sinclair in celebrating the 10th anniversary of unfuckwithable sophomore album Attack on Memory. 2012 surely couldn’t be a decade ago, and probably because tracks like the raging “Stay Useless” and sprawling “Wasted Days” still sound like they just dropped yesterday. On this evening we’ll get those and more as the Cleveland band tours the record in full, phase one of an anniversary celebration that’s capped in January with a vinyl re-release via Carpark Records. An added bonus for us in Cambridge is that Speedy Ortiz opens things up, showcasing a pair of intertwined songwriters in Dylan Baldi and Sadie Dupuis who know a thing or two about slinging guitar-rock noise with ease. It’s a Tuesday that’ll feel like a Friday in the depths of Harvard Square, with our angsty feelings from yesterday firmly stomped into the right now, as if no years have passed since. Attack on Memory, indeed.
