MARBLES venture within through a psych-pop haze on ‘World Inside Me’

Via Planetary

When we last caught up with MARBLES back in July, we marveled at the Norwegian band’s effortless ability to provide some dream-pop escapism to our summer soundtrack. The seasons have changed, and so have we, and as we approach winter and all its calm, detached wonder, the foursome from Norway’s black metal capital of Kolbotn have unveiled a warm and inviting new single out today (November 3) titled “World Inside Me.” There’s a dose of psych-pop floating through the introspective clouds here that comforts rather than confronts, and it’s easy to get lost in the track’s delicate dream-like haze.

And if winter is in fact the season of isolation, then it’s no surprise to find those vibes embedded in the aural DNA of “World Inside Me.”

MARBLES say this new song “was written in our most isolated period through the pandemic. It tries to describe a feeling of loneliness that is mostly conjured by our own mind. Even though there are options and offers from the outside world, sometimes you just feel better in your own sphere. Living in your own little world (or bubble) can feel both pleasant and safe, but also quickly turn into a lonesome and desperate state of mind.”

Bundle up and embrace it below, and prepare for MARBLES’ forthcoming sophomore album due out early next year.
