After premiering at Sundance 2021 (where we missed it because, hey, there are only so many hours in the day) to both rave reviews and some amount of controversy, Ninja Thyberg’s Pleasure has spent the interim bouncing about between distributors. A24 first had the porno drama but, for whatever reason — and we’ve heard whispers as to why — the boutique distributor decided to offload the feature to Neon, who has a track record of putting genuinely off-putting films in theaters and letting God, or at least the audience, seek and sort them out. What that means for you is that you’ll finally be able to see Pleasure yourself in the next few months, and Neon’s dropped a particularly hot-and-heavy Red Band trailer for you to check out.
Peep it (or don’t peep it until you’re safely at home so you can continue to make a living please, you probably have mouths to feed other than your own, be it human or cat or whatever ):

Pleasure hits theaters on May 13, and we absolutely cannot wait to go to a senior-filled matinee of this one. There have been some pretty funny stories about what happened in certain arthouses when older folks went to see Titane and subsequently walked out, and we’re betting that this will only be even crazier. Somebody should start the old-head equivalent of World Star so we can have all these clips in one place.
